Irregular Workpiece Template-Matching Algorithm Using Contour Phase

The current template-matching algorithm can match the target workpiece but cannot give position and orientation of irregular workpiece. Aiming at this problem, paper proposes a for workpieces based on contour phase difference. By this, one firstly gain profile curve by measuring its radius in orderly fashion then, calculate similarity template phase-shifting finally, compute rotation measure between two according to number movements. experimental results showed that way could not only shaped base accurately, also accurately angle relative with maximum error controlled within 1%.
